Biography

Lucas obtained his BEng in Instrumentation, Automation, and Robotics Engineering from the Federal University of ABC (Brazil) in 2014 and an MSc in Bioengineering from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in 2019. Before completing his master’s, Lucas spent 8 years at General Motors leading automation projects. He is currently a PhD student at The University of Queensland, where he investigates how Virtual Reality can enhance motor recovery in people with neurological conditions, such as spinal cord injuries and stroke, focusing on its potential to induce neuroplasticity and engagement through immersive experiences.
